Dominique Strauss-Kanh, a former French president, and Socialist, has been named the director of the International Monetary Fund, a key capitalist organization.
Maybe the socialist background won't have that much impact. The IMF seems to be sort of a policy standards body more than it is a real financial institution. I wonder how the US looks in light of the IMFs' "surveillance" criteria?
