When did we ever think that the separation of powers would ever last.. I know someone the history textbooks in grammar school claimed a separation existed between all the branches and politics. I probalby did not believe it when I was twelve either.
The original post is good. But the responders are great. A really good read for fun and information. The idea of a printing press made of foam rubber so that you can't damage someone by bopping them in the head with it caught me off guard, I laughed out loud.
